Most clients will see changes within 4-6 weeks, which is why our packages are designed for that length of time. Remember that every dog is unique, so we’ll work together to create an individualized plan that fits you and your dog’s needs with proven techniques, compassion, and patience.

Discounts for multiple sessions are built into our pricing. Our prices reflect immense amount of study and practice, as well as our deep commitment to continuing education. Sliding scale options will be added in the near future.

Dogs are living creatures, and just like we can’t guarantee that humans will behave in certain ways, there is no such thing as controlling results with dogs. What we will do is give you and your dog all the tools and knowledge you need for success in a compassionate, humane way. In rare cases where progress isn’t moving as expected, there are usually underlying issues that require veterinary care. We will discuss any of these possibilities in the initial consultation so that you know what to expect and what other support options are out there.

-
Yes! When you are a client with ARF Behavior, you can count on lifelong support with your dog. If you need any follow-up sessions, contact me at any point.
-
I strongly believe that training should be fun for you and your dog! We use positive reinforcement, force free, effective, humane, and compassionate methods. We will incorporate games, yummy treats, and joy to see long-lasting results. See our About page for more details on our methods.

This industry is completely unregulated. And that makes it incredibly difficult for dog guardians to know what methods are supported by science and veterinary organizations. If you’ve used other methods in the past, you’re likely here because they didn’t work how you expected, or led to other problems. You are not along, and I’m so glad you are here. I look forward to helping you learn new and effective methods that you can feel better about using.

When it comes to behavior of living beings, no one can make guarantees (and anyone who does, isn’t being ethical). We use methods that are endorsed by experts in behavior science and veterinary practice. Not only are you getting cutting edge methods, but you are getting a trainer who knows what it is like to live and work daily with reactive, nervous, high-needs dogs. When working with us, you are giving your dog the best chance of improvement.

At this time, we only offer private sessions. The Humane Society of Sonoma County is a fantastic local resource for group classes! You can find me teaching puppy classes there often.
